Christmas Eve

We were all ready for Christmas. Lane was wearing his cute little outfit that Grandma Karen had bought him, Grandma Cherie & Grandpa Dennis had been sufficiently hounded so that opening one gift on Christmas Eve was agreed to and everyone was sitting around the tree, impatiently, yet somewhat patiently, waiting.

Uncle Mike was so excited to give Lane his gift... the only problem was that Lane didn't know what to make of the gift. He didn't get that he was supposed to rip the paper and he didn't get that he was supposed to be excited and he didn't get that the whole thing was supposed to be fun and that everyone was watching him for that reason. Poor guy.

He really didn't appreciate the effort Uncle Mike and Auntie Tara put into finding the perfect gift. That is, until he got to sit on it and get pushed around on it and got to hear the music.

And then when he realized he could play with the wrapping paper, all of a sudden life got a whole lot better.

that's so funny. I gotta admit - I think the picture of him crying with the firetruck is making me laugh :) It's cute and funny and sad all at the same time.
