Christmas Day

I have to tell you the truth. Lane's first Christmas was pretty anticlimactic. He had no idea what was going on. In fact, he napped through half of the gift-opening part of the day. But, even though he was not excited at all, he still had fun with his gifts.

My grandpa made Lane a wooden train. My grandpa loves to woodwork and each of us grandchildren has various items that he has made for us over the years. He is always looking for another project to work on so I was happy to suggest that he turn his woodworking talent to making something for Lane. We are very pleased with the result!

Lane likes the train but right now he especially likes the logs that go in one of the cars (he also likes to show off his two front teeth that are slowly coming in).

And if the toys weren't fun enough, the paper, boxes and plastic coverings were just as good.

that's such an awesome train! It will be neat for Lane to have that as he grows up and know that it was made with love just for him by his great-grandpa! :)
