My boys.

As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. So I'll save myself some time and try not to write the corresponding thousand words for each of the following pictures. I will say this though - these pictures were taken in the order they appear. They were an attempt to capture both of my boys looking cute. Of course, my photography skills are lacking so the pictures don't do them justice.

You'll be happy to know that cute boy #1 has since had his hair cut.

Cool dude

We have lots of "cool dude" moments in our house but some are definitely cuter than others.  Today's cool dude is wearing sunglasses, a large towel wrapped around his body and is carrying a pen with a LED light in the end.

Of the three, I'm just not sure which part he thought was cooler. What do you think?

10 weeks

This is my 10 week old baby.

Otherwise known as my 2 1/2 month old. Also known as a chunk. We had him weighed a few days ago; he weighed in at 15 lbs, 10 oz. There is some serious weight to this guy. To put it in perspective, Lane weighed 12 lbs at 2 months and I thought he was roly-poly. I suppose it explains why I don't enjoy carting this heavy bugger around in his car seat anymore.

He is getting more and more bright eyed and continues to be more and more fun. He is starting to be more aware of his surroundings and is smiling and giggling more and more.

We still like him, so we'll be keeping him a little longer yet.

He made my day

My son picked these flowers for me:

They are as cute as he is.

I'm keeping 'em both.

Another self-photography attempt

Why do I keep trying to do this?! As I have said before, I have never mastered the art of one-handed self-photography. I guess I'm just holding out hope that one of these days I'll get 'er figured out.

This attempt started out with the best of intentions (as always). The boys and I were outside, Lane running around and Avery snuggled in his wrap. I figured, hey, wouldn't it be cool to get a picture of me with Avery in the wrap? And what if I could get Lane in there too? Thus began the following saga:

First, I tried to get a feel for how to line up the shot:

I managed to get 2 of 3. Could I get all three?

Yep, I could get all three. If you count Avery's handsome blue hat as being a picture of him. Hmmmm... maybe a different angle?

Nope. Actually, I think it's worse. All we can see of Avery is a blue blob. And yet the big boy still managed to have a cute pose. Argh. What would happen if I ditched the big boy and just went with me and the marsupial tied to me?

Yeah. Didn't think so. A great shot of me and my big boy's scarf that I was supposed to wear for him because he got tired of tripping over it.

Like I said, I'm none too good at self-photography. Stay tuned for the next attempt... if you dare.

The big boy

Lane has been busy being Lane.

Which means that he has enjoyed eating chocolate whipped cream out of a bowl with his fingers. Which also entailed finding out that all of his fingers can fit in his mouth at the same time. (Please take note of the Lightning McQueen pyjamas.)

He desperately wanted a picture taken of his newest talent: folding.

My hero, "Super Lane":

Also known as daddy's farm boy. Either way, the persona wouldn't be complete without new shoes.

And what better way to wind down than to listen to music with one of your favorite stuffed animals?

That's my boy.

2 months

My baby is two months old! He smiles and giggles and coos. He's cute. And we like him.

He likes to sleep (whoohooo!) and he doesn't like being left in a room by himself. He loves to lie on his change table and kick and kick and kick. He likes to kick in the bath tub too!

And he just keeps on growing. He is now wearing 3-6 month clothing... which means that I keep having to dig through my stash of baby clothes to find clothes to fit the boy.
