Saskatchewan, especially northern Saskatchewan, can be a fickle place to grow a garden. The weather is never the same two years in a row. This year is no exception as my husband sometimes thinks he's back in North Carolina due to the regularity of rain we are getting. The amount of water we have is problematic for our farming industry, mosquito-free evenings and for many plants that like things on the drier side. However, it is great for a lush lawn, strawberry plants and potatoes.
We have a couple of different varieties of potatoes planted in the garden in our yard. Regardless of the variety, they are doing wonderfully, as in, they are monstrously tall.
Hopefully that means there will be lots of yummy tubers to partake of shortly.
